Tai Ortiz
Tai Ortiz Is a New York Based Actor, Trained at The Neighborhood Playhouse.
Born and bred in NYC, Tai has always had a passion for film. She has a B.A. in Film from Brooklyn College & is a Macaulay Honors College Scholar. After she graduated, she discovered that she was much better suited in front of the camera than behind it. Therefore, Tai took the plunge into acting by attending The Neighborhood Playhouse in 2023. At the playhouse, she gained a deep understanding of the Meisner technique, as well as jazz and modern dance, stage combat, and singing.
Upon completing the program in 2025, Tai was cast as Van Helsing in Brad Lemons’ production of Dracula. Most recently, Tai performed at The Tank as the titular character, Token, in a play written by Dacyl Acevedo for The International Human Rights Art Festival.

Tai will also be on stage in two plays at the Midtown International Theater Festival Short Lab this upcoming July. The first play is in Program A and it’s titled LET IT STORM by Laura Archer; a young couple, Melissa & Majorie, stuck on a small island in Maine during an oncoming storm take their relationship to the next level. The second play is in Program B and it’s titled FREE LUNCH by AP Hello; As longtime friends, Harriet and Mary-Anne, wrap up a lunch uptown, HARRIET mentions medical bills. Marry-Anne surprises her by divulging that she doesn’t pay hers. They argue over the implications of that until Harriet leaves in a huff.
